Transcription - Associate Degree: This program
teaches the use of headsets and transcription machines
to listen to recordings by physicians and other health
care professionals. Learn to transcribe a variety
of medical reports about emergency room visits, diagnostic
imaging studies, operations, chart reviews, and final
summaries. Training includes understanding medical
terminology, excellent English grammar, and punctuation.
Must be very familiar with personal computer, word
processing, and the finer tricks of word processing
to increase speed. Final quarter students work an
externship 4 hours a day 5 days a week.
