The
Respiratory
Therapist
is
qualified
to
assume
primary
responsibility
for
all
respiratory
care
treatments,
including
the
supervision
of
Respiratory
Therapy
Technicians.
Under
the
supervision
of
a
physician,
the
Respiratory
Therapist
may
be
required
to
exercise
considerable
independent
clinical
judgment
in
the
care
of
respiratory
patients.
At
Apollo
College,
the
knowledge
and
skills
needed
by
respiratory
therapists
are
taught
through
formal
lecture,
laboratory,
and
clinical
instruction.
The
program
is
designed
to
train
entry
level
respiratory
therapists
who
meet
nationally
accepted
standards
for
practitioners
